When does it stop hurting?

I had a first degree tear and received one continuous stitch. I just wanted to know when will the pain subside? After a couple hours the medicine wears off and I can't sit or lay or even stand because of the pressure. I just want to sit like a normal person again. When were you able to sit comfortably again?

You’ll feel much better by the end of the first week. Just make sure you’re rinsing well and you can do sitz baths or use aloe/witch hazel/lavender mixture on your pads for quicker healing

Do you have a donut pillow? It saved me the first little while! Definitely recommend it.

I tore with my son, 1st degree and I was uncomfortable for about 2 and a half weeks, I could not sit down or walk it was the hardest part about the whole experience. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I had an episiotomy (second degree tear) with several stitches. After about 2 weeks I was much more comfortable.

I had a second degree tear, and mine was so sore and tender to even get up, or move at all. I hated sitting down any where, so I always sat with a lean to one side... other than my stitches I was pretty good postpartum. My pain started subsiding I’d say maybe a week and a half/2 weeks... but until then it sucked really bad. Just take care of them, use your peri bottle/witch hazel wipes, and you will be fine! I’m 7 weeks pp and have been having sex and started working out again. And I am a baby when it comes to pain. JUST TAKE CARE OF THEM!

I had an episiotomy, cut in two places.  It was the only thing that bothered me after the birth.  The pain and discomfort lasted for about 3 weeks for me.  After that, it still bothered me but a lot of that might have just been the trauma of it.
