Open relationship... maybe?

Question

Next month will be a year that I've been with my girlfriend... I love her and I want to be with her and I want to build with her, but I can't shake the feeling that I want to date other people from time to time, and I'd be ok if she does it too as long as we set some ground rules and are open with each other but idk if she'll want to do that.. idk how to bring it up... or what is should do if I bring it up and she's not for it...

If you truly feel this way you can bring it up but also be prepared for her to not respond well or even end the relationship. I know a few people who are in open relationships and it has worked and some that it didn't. If you don't know if she would want that just know you take a big risk talking to her. I am always one to lean towards being honest but just always being cognizant of the potential risks.

Start by asking the question what are your thoughts on open relationships and have you ever considered one.  If she's open to it then talk about it.  Talk about it until you've come to an agreement, boundaries, and what you're comfortable with.  If she's not open to it and it's something you want then you'll have to make the decision if you want to end your relationship.

You’re scared to be alone but need validation and attention from strangers. It doesn’t seem you’re ready to date, if this isn’t the case I don’t see what’s wrong with asking her and to see if she’s okay with it.

I think you need to talk to her. Discuss polyamory. Evaluate if monogamy is really for you or if maybe this relationship isn’t the right one. When you get these urges to date other people, is something going on in your relationship that is making you feel unsatisfied or is it something you’re genuinely open to doing? 
I think it is very important to be open and honest.
