Can you lose your insurance if you decide against vaccinating your children?

I am on a government based insurance. I’m not saying I’m against vaccinating, but I’m not for it either. I’m in between. Where would you go to get your children’s well-child check ups if you’d decide against it?

You’d need to research pediatricians in your area that will allow you to not vaccinate or pick and choose which one you do. My pediatrician will terminate care if you do not receive vaccines on the standard vaccination schedule.

You have to find a dr who will take non vaccinated kids. Many drs won’t even see the kids if they aren’t vaccinated.

unfortunately they don’t, but i think they should cancel insurance if you refuse to vaccinate. i believe you as a parent should protect your children, INCLUDING vaccines. that’s my opinion.

No thank God for that. You just have to call and ask around. Becuase many pediatricians push them and they can commission from having as many kids vaccinated as they can. From what I have heard family practitioners are usually not pushy beciase they don't get kickbacks for vaccinating.

It’s going to be hard to find a doctor that accepts unvaccinated kids. You’re probably going to have to call every provider listed to see if they will take you, and don’t be surprised if they don’t. You also could follow the science that is tried and true instead of determining that you know better than someone educated in these matters.

Your insurance won’t be canceled. But, like others have said, you may be hard pressed to find a doctor that takes unvaccinated patients AND takes your insurance.  I know of one doctor in my area that takes non vaccinated patients,  but that doctor accepts very few types of insurance and when I have taken my children there for other non vaccine related things, I had to pay a large sum out of pocket.

We do delayed vaccines due to alllergic reactions my children have had. It’s really not that hard to find a doctor to work with. You can tell them you do delayed and want to wait until they are older. There is nothing wrong with that. My children didn’t get vaccines until they were 4 or 5. They didn’t go to daycare though and didn’t go to school until 1st grade.

Family practice tend to be relaxed and open to doing a delayed schedule/single vaccine/no vaccine. But you need to interview the doctors to see if they will be a good fit for your family. Don’t forget that you hire them and you can fire them. Informed consent and advocate what is best for your family situation. You are ultimately the once calling the shots (literally)￼.
