HSV + BF while pregnant 24wks

My boyfriend is hsv2 positive and I haven’t tested or had any outbreaks (I do have type 1) my doctor said it’s completely up to me rather I take the acylavor (valtrex) or not at 36+ . I want to keep her as safe as possible. I’m so scared to take this pill. Has anyone else gone thru this or have insight on this ?
