Membrane sweep/ side effects

I am 39 +4 and I got my membrane swept this morning (I was 1.5-2 centimeters dilated) it was very uncomfortable but they warned me about that. they also warned me about some spotting and cramping. Since then I have had some (on the heavier side) spotting and lower back cramps/ pains that resemble period pains. My question is has anyone else had these pains/ bleeding. Should I expect anything to come of this because of what I’m experiencing or are these just normal side effects from the sweep? I appreciate all the help! 💕
