Can you tell when you’re about to go into labor soon?

Question

Like looking back, were there any signs or was it just water braking? Or contractions? Or sorry I’m not sure what to expect at ALLLLLLL. I’m 38 weeks & I keep looking for any and everything

Everyone is different but I had no warning. I woke up at 6am to pee and as soon as my bladder was empty I got a contraction. Then from there it was pretty steady. Checked into the hospital around 7:30am, had her at 8:58pm that night.

I was very sick to my stomach the night before going into labor! We were supposed to go out for my birthday dinner, instead I was stuck in the bathroom most of the night. This is apparently not an uncommon symptom! Felt better the next morning, water broke around 4pm next day and baby was in my arms by 4 am. (:

With my second, I nested, then took a bath that night and was surprised by my low back pain.  It was just on fire.  I woke up leaking amniotic fluid and contracting every 3-5 minutes 
With my third, I had sex and the contractions started after that.

For me both times and with the losses(3) I had extreme brutal  back and stomach aches where I felt like I was constipated but kept going to thale bathroom. I knew for sure I was in labor as it lasted hours and then contractions hit with it and knew it was active labor  then within 6 hrs being at hospital I delivered.

None for me. I had my son the day before his due date and up until 39+5 my cervix was tightly closed! I felt like i would never go into labor! Then at 3am the day before my due date I started having light contractions and had my son that night at 11pm! 
Also a lot of women’s water actually breaks/ is broken in the hospital! Not all women have their water break as one of the first signs. I didn’t know that until I went into labor and they broke my waters!

I only have back labor so for me I just get a really bad lower Backaches and then I head to labor and delivery and so far the 3 times I did that I was in labor lol

I got nothing with both girls! I didn’t “drop”. My waters didn’t break. I don’t recall going through the “nesting” faze (maybe I did and didn’t pay it any mind) no mucus plug... nothing at all gave me any hints! The only thing I got with my first was a blood show whilst getting what felt like really bad cramps you get when you have a baddddddd stomach bug with an upset stomach...... 
My second I was having irregular contractions... I simply made myself cum to regulate them and get me going and that helped... 
I hope with my son now I get some warning because I am not prepared and I’m almost 34 weeks. I don’t have his bag packed... haven’t done his room! Nothing! I wanted to wait until closer to the time (so many miscarriages) but I forgot how hard it is to move being 8 months pregnant so I effed up. Obviously hubby and my kids help out and will do these things for me but I like to get things done myself 😬

My water broke at 1 am but the day and evening leading up to that I kept feeling like I had to go to the bathroom with what I thought were just Braxton hick contentions. So I tried to go numerous times that day and never could.  I didn’t think much of it until my water broke and the real contractions started.

No. I didn't feel any of my contractions before. Some people talk about BH here. I saw them only on monitor on a routine NST. They do NST whrn you are close to due date or over it at every appointment. I even had a sweep. But that also didn't send me into labor. I had induction booked for 41+5 morning. And I didn't feel any signs of labor until the day before. But then my contractions started and water broke, so that was already labor not a sign of it upcoming anymore.

While i was having this mysterious pain , i remember thinking “ imagine you’re in labor “ i laughed and was like “
Naaaaaaaah “ ....... little did i know , i was in labor. 
I’m sure this time will be no different lol.
