At what week do they check how dilated you are? 38+1

Currently 38+1 and my next midwife appointment is at 39 weeks...
Will she check how dilated I am then?
My midwife appointments have all been at children's centres because of covid so I dunno how they would even check me because there aren't private rooms...
I'm so confused 😅
Also curious at what point you guys were offered a sweep?
40+ or earlier?

They don’t check in the uk it’s completely unnecessary and potentially dangerous

I’ve just been to my 38w appt today and I’ve booked a sweep for my 40w appt (I literally turn 40w that day!)
Like the others have said I don’t think they do checks for dilation, although they must have to do one for a sweep as my midwife said if you’ve not started dilating/ aren’t dilated enough they obviously can’t do the sweep

It's a very American thing to do! You just don't need it... you could be not dilated at all and go into labour that day or sit at 3cm for days and nothing happen 🤷🏼‍♀️
