Room sharing?

Question

When are you transitioning baby to their own room? 
FTM here and we were going to do a year of room sharing, but now im seeing that we should only do 6 months to avoid the separation anxiety that’ll come when we do transition? My son naps in his room/crib just fine, and he sleeps 10-12 hours a night. I’m most worried about his room being so far away from ours. Im more upset about it then he will be but it breaks my heart to think about transitioning him out of our room, but I want to do what’s best for him.

My LO started sleeping in her own room/crib at one month old. Our bedrooms share a wall and we have a video monitor so I couldn’t see the point in keeping her in our room and basically never getting any sleep

Moved ours at 4 months but wanted to do 3 months. Mostly to make sure we get rest and let me tell you. It was SO LIBERATING not to have the baby in the room. Definitely opened up just a wee bit more opportunity for intimacy. I had hoped to also sleep teach/train but havent been able to because baby has a raspy voice, so I still wake up around 2-4am to baby crying for a night cap.

We moved him to his room at around 3 months. My husband is too noisy and kept waking him up lol and I also definitely wanted to avoid any separation anxiety

We just finished my sons nursery yesterday so his first night alone is tonight. He'll be 5 months on the 9th. I usually move my kids when they're  around 6-9 months old. I've never had any issues.

My son started sleeping in his own room a few weeks ago. He’s 19 weeks. He does just fine. The transition to the crib was harder than the transition to his room lol even with the sleep regression that hit he did just fine. But both his and my daughters rooms are on the complete opposite side of the house. Makes me extremely nervous. But I have a baby gate in his door way that my daughter cannot open. I also have a camera in each of their rooms and a regular monitor in his leading into my room and the living room. It was an adjustment for me more than him lol just something you have to get used to I think. Definitely easier for me as I already have a 5 year old. But also she slept in my bed until she was 3 so I refused to do that with this one lol he has always slept separate. But I also moved him into his room because my husband works third shift and my sister watches my kids for me at home a few days a week and I didn’t want them waking him up as he works 6 pm to 6 am.

We just put her crib in our room cause she outgrew the bassinet and plan on keeping her in there until she’s a year. Once she’s a year old we’ll move her crib back into her room. I’m sure there will be some tough nights but that’s expected no matter when you change the environment. We had a tough night last night just switching her from the bassinet to the crib.

I transitioned my LO at 4 months, I actually did it when we started sleep training during  her 4 month sleep regression, so that way we were able to break that habit and create this one, she also was a loud sleeper and kept me up most of the night and it’s easier cause everything is in her room! It was hard but we are getting used to it 😌
