I made a post a few weeks ago venting about my situation which I don't think anyone read it anyways. It's gotten so bad that I could be facing a possible eviction.

I just got a note from the apartment complex that I have 7 days to pay the rent or they'll take me to court to evict me. For the past several weeks I have called and called many places for financial assistance. I knew I wasn't going to be able to make the full rent so I was trying to get help as soon as possible.

I called salvation army and they can't help me because they helped me back in 2019 when my cousin was on life support for a month and I was downstate at the hospital the entire time helping family and didn't work but I had money saved up so I was able to make a partial payment and they helped with the rest. They told me they could only help once every 3 years.

I called another place and they don't have funding for rental assistance. I called another place that I talked to and they also talked to the office managers on Friday. I had to talk to 3 different people and I don't even know if I'll get any funding yet. The first person had to get my info and why I needed assistance and try to help me with other resources.

The 2nd person was just doing a follow up and had to take my info to the board to see if they would move forward with my case which I thought I was getting funding because they complex my apartment complex about how much I owe for rent and other things. Then I get call on Friday from a third person going over my info and saying that she has to take it to someone to see if they approve my case and if I don't hear back from her by the end of that day I will hear back on Wednesday when they open again. I didn't hear anything Friday and I also talked to the apartment manager that day because she wanted to make sure she was putting the correct info in and I explained my situation.

Monday comes and I get a demand of possession letter on my door that I have 7 days from that day to pay or face possible eviction. Idk what to. I've lived here since May of last year and I have never been late on my rent ever since I moved in. I always pay a quarter of my rent every week so that way by the end of the month it's paid in full. I just had a bad financial situation since January but I've been able to make ends meet up until recently.

Basically I was making really good money as a Shipt shopper and I was able to put money aside for emergencies, take vacations, buy gifts for my family etc. Things I've never been able to do before. I work 7 days a week and was averaging $1200-$1500 weekly. Now I'm making $400-$600.

I got my puppy new years day and once I got back home because I had to drive 4 hours to get him so we stayed overnight before bringing him back Shipt slowed down like really slowed down to the point I wasn't getting any orders some days or getting very few orders. Then it slowly started to pick up again.

Then first week of February they decreased the pay. I had to work even harder to make ends meet. I have a courtesy pay for my bank account. Which means when funds run out I have a $500 limit to use but there's a $25 fee with every transaction which adds up pretty quickly.

Since I get paid direct deposit it automatically pays that negative balance off leaving me with barely anything. This has been going on for 3 months. I'm making money but I can't use any of it because of that balance. I used one of my bags of stashed cash to pay off most of my negative balance one week so I could get most of my check that week. I was still back in the negative that same day after paying off some bills. I cut the courtesy pay off to try to catch up but it's still not enough. I also started working for instacart as a 2nd income.

I've also been looking for some restaurant jobs but a lot of them you don't get your first check for at least 3 weeks so that's why I started instacart because I get paid weekly and they also have an instant cash out option so I can cash out up to 5 times a day for the orders that I complete that day.

I don't know if I can get approved for a loan and cash advances have a high interest rate. My credit is fair 646 but I just got it up and don't want to ruin it when I can't pay back the loan. I'm just scared to end up homeless. It's already so hard to find a place to live here and my family is hours away.

I built my life here and my clientele. I'm trying to get my business up and running with all of the support I have but that has been the last thing I think about now since I have no money. I can't get any assistance because I make too much. No unemployment, food stamps etc to help me cut costs but I am grateful to still be working I just wish I was making what I used to make. I cut out so many things like personal training that were costing me too much money.

I don't know what I'm looking for here. I guess I'm just venting again. Please no negative comments.

Edit: My apartment complex called me a few minutes ago about that letter. They have to send that out when someone doesn't make their rent. Which is just standard procedure but because they know my situation they just want me to keep them posted about what's going on. Otherwise I'm still looking for another chef job and will continue to do Shipt and instacart until then so I can have some sort of income.

That courtesy pay really screwed me over and I think that's what the biggest issue was because even making $400-$600 a week I could of still made it work but because it's direct deposit, all of that went to pay off the negative balance leaving me with nothing each week. I made $1100 one week and only got to use $400 of that because the rest went to pay that balance. So I'm hoping with cutting that courtesy pay off it will help me slowly get back on my feet until something comes along.
