Does gestational diabetes really increase your chances of still birth?

Online I read that it makes you 5 x more likely to have a stillbirth and 3 x more likely to have a baby die months after birth. This made me so anxious!!!

That's if it isn't controlled. Unfortunately some women dont take it seriously and refuse to change their diet or monitor their sugars. That's when trouble can happen.

Those numbers are for women who have severe cases that are not ever diagnosed or treated. If you’re working with a dietician and following a diet plan or taking medication if you need it, then you can have a perfectly healthy pregnancy and baby. Please try not to stress! I have GD and it sucks, but it’s only because of my placenta making me insulin resistant and I’m doing what needs to be done to manage it.
