New to IVF TTC

Hello everyone I am a 42 y/o mom of 5 starting my first time IVF journey for my last baby. We have been TTCing for about 3 years now with a chemical and a miscarriage of twins in 2019 and no luck there after😢my OB suggested we try IVF and well here we are. I had my first appt on 2/24 got blood and sono saw follicles and doc started me on whole BC that same night without a period for 4 days is that okay? My period was due 2/28 but never came down since I took BC. I was started on 1/2 BC that day 3/8 had blood a and sono w/quiet ovaries don’t know what that means 3/9 I was told to take 1/2 BC every other day until 3/15 my next blood and sono. I have no idea what to ask or look for can some one please help understand more glady appreciate it 😊
