Definitely depends on the area! Me and my siblings would go to the park alone all the time but it was in our neighborhood that's very safe and only about a 3 minute walk away

i’ve heard stories about girls at 16 getting kidnapped. idk how recent those are but i wouldn’t let my kid out until like 13. and they need to be carrying a stun gun on them at all times. or until i know they can use their noggins properly. i plan to teach them self defense at a young age so they should be ok

Nope. When I lived in a neighborhood I didn’t even let them play in the next door neighbors front yard without me or the other parent being outside watching them. You never know when or where something could happen. I live in the mountains now and on 38 acres and we have set boundaries on where they are allowed to play and how to be safe on the rocks and watching out for danger and they have to take our German shepherd with them in case an animal is around.

No bc anything can happen as a mother you should want to protect your kids I mean you can go with them to a park but never let them go by there selfs bc there are so many men out here will snatch your kids

Ya no I’ll pass on that. Less in my town but more in the town over, where my fiance grew up, you see kids riding their bikes on the main roads, crossing the highway, at the park by themselves. I’m sure they probably go play on the railroad tracks or go down to the river, too. Not my thing. Not only could they get kidnapped, but they could get plowed down by a car, or fall off of something and break a bone, bust their head open, fall into the water and drown, get lost in the woods...no just no

These comments make me so sad. My son is still not allowed past the front steps as he can barely walk down them alone but I would only hope by the time he is older my town is still as safe as it is now. I see 8,9,10 year olds at the park all the time. Never thought twice of it before reading this. I hope my little corner doesn’t change too much

Not until they can drive. Mine arnt near tht old yet, but Thts my plan. Once you can drive you can go some places alone but I hve to know where u are, and I will be tracking there phones. 🤷‍♀️
