Does your toddler gain weight at a constant pace?

My son doesn’t seem to gaining weight as quickly as he used to. He’s been 20 lbs since about 13 months. He recently went to 22 lbs but that may have been because he was fully dressed, and I’m not sure of the diaper situation. Is it normal for the weight gain to slow down this much?

Very normal. In fact I would be surprised if this wasn’t the case for most of us.

My son is the same! He was gaining weight pretty fast but he’s been stuck at 20-22lbs. He’s definitely super active. So I’m sure that has a part in it but I get so nervous that he’s not eating enough

My son has not gained hardly anything in months, he was 24 lbs at his last appointment. I asked our doc and he wasn't concerned.

We didn’t even gain a full pound between 12 and 15 month appointments.  Weight gain slows down after the first year

Very normal, they only gain 3-5lbs typically after a year per year. We just had her 15m and she’s 19lbs.

We just went for the 15 month appt yesterday and she only gained one pound since 12 months. They weren't too concerned. But she is only in the 20th percentile. She was only born at 4lb13oz. She has always eaten great. The last few weeks she has not been eating the greatest or drinking since I know her molars are bothering her. Hopefully she starts gained more weight before her next appt in 3 months.

Nope! My 16 month old is 25 lb. my 3.5 year old is 32lb. They were born about the same weight, but my son (younger) gained a bit faster than his sister. Still, I'd expect him to slow down at this point.

I think it just depends on the child. My son gained weight pretty slow in my opinion. He will be 4 in May and he’s only like 31 lbs. My daughter on the other hand, she gains weight pretty well haha. My son was always a slender little thing. My daughter is a little chunky girl. She just had her 15 month appointment yesterday and she’s already 24 lbs. So she gained 4 lbs since her 12 month appointment. But now we’re talking my 15 month old and my almost 4 year old are only 7 lbs different haha.

It is fully normal. Between two doctors visits my daughter didn’t gain any weight and that was in a few months time. They said it’s normal because they are more active now especially when they start walking the weight gain will slow down.
