Husband drinking while watching our baby

My husband was drinking while watching our 1 month old daughter. When I came upstairs to check on them that’s when I found out he was drinking and took her downstairs to be with me while I helped the plumber. After I took my daughter from my husband, he fell twice, once on the stairs and later said he didn’t remember falling which means he was black out drunk.

I haven’t noticed any changes in my daughter but might still want to take her to the pediatrician to get checked out - but don’t really want to admit to the pediatrician that he was drinking but also don’t want to lie and say a baby sitter did it.

After my husband sobered up, he said this was a wake up call (he really hurt himself when he fell) and agreed to not drink at all while watching our daughter, emptied the bottle he got into the sink & is on board with coming up with a plan to deal with his drinking. For now, he’s trying to go at least 3 weeks 100% sober.

My questions to the group are:

1) what do I tell the pediatrician if I ask for an appointment?

2) anyone else have this kind of issue with their husband? If so, what did you do?

Edit- as a first time mom, I thought the right thing to do would be get her checked out, just to be safe but didn’t go in because nothing was noticeably wrong with her. She was crying when he had her but it wasn’t noticeably different from when she’s overtired and hasn’t fallen asleep yet.
