Side affect of being intubated from surgery. Damaged tongue.
Wasnt sure where to post this
So last Friday I got my tubes tied laparoscopicly and I was told they would have to intubate me being put under anesthesia. Surgery went fine I woke up and my tongue and mouth was extremely dry was told thats normal. Gave me plenty of ice and water. Well next day I notice the side of my tongue was still dry feeling almost numb and tingly. I really don't have much taste on that side either. A few days later the nurse from the hospital called to check up on me and I mentioned it to her and she said its a little odd but suggested it could come back and if it don't can bring it up to the doctor at my two week check up. Its been a week and has not changed and if anything I now feel it under my tongue a bit but I wouldn't say its really getting worse. When I have something salty like fries it feels worse and in the morning when my mouth is dry. I'm wondering if I have permanent damage to my tongue from being intubated. Has anyone had any surgery and ended up having this happen? I can't be the only one. Please let me no your thoughts on this. Should I call someone about this or just wait tell my dr appointment on Thursday?
