Anyone concerned with their toddler not talking much?

My son is almost 19 months. He used to say mama, dada, ball, dog, and hi. But for the past 2 months it’s like he just stopped talking. He will babbles sometimes, say mama but that’s it. He hasn’t learned any new words and doesn’t seem interested in talking at all. 
My husband thinks I’m crazy for being worried but I just feel like my son should be advancing with speech not regressing? He is a very very active baby and is much more interested in figuring out how things work and concentrates on how things move. So maybe that’s why? He is just more interested in other things?

Well we got my son evaluated 2 weeks ago. His speech is quit behind measuring at 10 months old so we’re starting speech therapy. He is way ahead In gross motor like 26 months.

I try not to stress about it but it does worry me. She knows a few words but understands so many words! I think she just doesn’t want to start talking that much yet. I’ve been trying to encourage her as much as I can 🤷🏼‍♀️

I could have written this myself. Same exact situation, wondering if I should look into speech therapy. Also i should note my sons been advanced physically the whole time, walking fully at 8 months old so idk if there’s any truth to the early walker late talker thing??

We started early intervention at 15 months as my son wasn’t talking. You can call and get your child evaluated if your in the states. We are working with a developmental interventionist and occupational therapist now.

I would bring it up with the pediatrician and just have him evaluated by speech.  It certainly doesn’t hurt to have him checked xx
