How many of you actually had your babies delivered by your OBGYN that you seen through out your pregnancy?

Starting at about 30 weeks they had me schedule weekly appointments and told me I should pretty much schedule them all for the rest of the pregnancy because my Dr is really booked. I've asked her about if she's always so busy with appointments how she can be there if a patient goes into labor during her appointments. She said it's difficult and she sometimes has had to cancel appointments or be late and said she has about 5 other doctors she trusts that may be on call if she's not able to make it.
Just curious with these OBs crazy schedules how many people actually have their own doctor for the delivery?

I saw a rotation of midwives with my babies so I wasn’t super focused on any one of them. I don’t really care who is there to catch honestly. As long as my husband is there I don’t need anyone else.

I did with both my kiddos. My OB delivered both my kids, which I heard while in the hospital that never happens. You usually get the on call doc which happened to be my OB twice LOL

My babies are IVF kids and for me it was very  important that they were monitored and delivered by the same doctor. But that’s a common practice in my country. He did everything starting from IVF preparation, transfer, every ultrasound, exam and ofcos labor itself.

I didn’t go into labor until 40+4 and my OB was on vacation. She had told me about the trip in advance and had offered to do a membrane sweep to try to move things along while she was in town, but I opted to let things happen naturally. I was relieved that another doctor in the practice that I had met with and liked was available when I went into labor, but I didn’t know that my labor would be sooo long. I went through 3 doctors during my 18.5 hour labor and ended up with a male doctor with giant man hands that I didn’t much care for. But I met him when I was about 8 centimeters dilated, 15 hours into an unmedicated birth, so I’m not sure I would’ve liked anyone at that point. He brought my baby safely into this world, which is all that matters in the end. My son had the umbilical cord wrapped 3 around him, once around his neck. He had me stop pushing after getting the head out so he could safely move the umbilical cord to avoid injury. My point is that all the doctors are skilled and trained, so it didn’t matter so much who caught him in the end.

I couldn’t make it to the hospital my OB delivered at so I went to the closest hospital to my house. I displayed from 1-10 in an hour. I barely made it! But the dr/staff on call was great. Luckily I didn’t have any issues.

At the hospital I go to whatever OB doctor is on call when you go into labor is who will deliver your baby.

I didn’t even have an ob/dr present it happened so fast but my OB just got off shift an hour before I had little man.. the nurses were amazing

I did but only because I was induced a week late and my dr picked a day that she was on call at the hospital lol

I’ve been seeing a midwife at the clinic, but whoever is on call at the hospital is who delivers your baby. If you have to be induced, they can kind of schedule you with your doctor. But nothing is guaranteed.
