Empty sac at 5 week ultrasound?

No idea why my doctor ordered an ultrasound so early. My gestational sac measured exactly 5 weeks (and I’m 22 dpo, exactly 5 weeks from menstrual period) but she couldn’t see anything inside yet. Is this normal?

It’s normal not to see anything other than a sac that early.

Too early. But sometimes they order it that early if they suspect possible ectopic, just to make sure the sac is in the correct place.
