How soon is too soon?

This is my second pregnancy, 8w 6d, and we kept really nothing when it comes to baby items when we had our son. My already bought a couple used-like new items like a dream glider and mamaroo, then the other day we were helping a family friend buy a large item so she needed our truck and while at the house the lady was selling baby items so I bought a baby carrier and a little tub (we remodeled our bathroom and instead of tub shower we got only a shower 🙄). That is all kind of a tangent but I was wondering when did you ladies start buying items for baby? Really on the fence about having a shower, probably end up doing a “sprinkle”, so I’m not expecting many gifts. Obviously holding off on clothes until we know gender but things like toys, diaper bags, etc...I feel like I waited near end of my first pregnancy to buy things but that was because we had a big shower and just wanted to buy the stuff that was left over. After not doing this for 2 1/2 years I feel like a first time mom again 🤣
