1.5 YO pulling out her own hair

FTM and my daughter is 16 months and in the last month seems to have developed what I’ve discovered on google is Baby Trich.

Aka, she is pulling her own hair out when going to sleep and when she wakes up as night for self-soothing.

Does anyone have experience with this?? My family/friends don’t and I’m freaking out. Google gives conflicting advice. I tried giving her a doll with hair at night hoping she use that instead but she is not a fan.
