Please read before voting

Hey mom's and or dad's,

I have two boys and our youngest just grew out of the crib into a big boy bed. This crib was also his older brothers so it's very sentimental to me.

My husband discussed what we would do with it, and his family tradition is to keep it and pass it down to the first sibling who has a child. Like his sister got theirs. But I don't want to hold on to a crib for that long to just sit, collect dust, and possibly get ruined.

I want to turn it into a bench for our entrance walk way area. I told him by the time our boys even have kids (if they ever even do) who knows if that crib will even be seen as being safe. And this way the crib can still stay in the family no matter what. And it's more of a special thing to us than it is to them anyways lol.

So what would you do?
