Is 20 weeks too late to change drs?

Question

I am a patient of a practice that has like 8 drs. Because you don't know who is on call when you go in to labor they suggest seeing multiple drs. Overall I've been happy but today was my anatomy scan and it was over in 6 minutes.  I'm now concerned about the quality of care I'm getting and what could happen at labor. Is it too late to switch practices?

You can switch at anytime, but you might have limited choices the closer you get to your due date as clinic limit their patient caseload.

Nope. I switched at 32 weeks with my 3rd baby. My doc was terrible. I went to the er with pain in my vaginally area and contractions. They sent to L&D and they hooked me up to monitors and called my doc. She told the nurse to check me for a uti and send me home and she would see me at my next appt in two weeks. I kept saying I didn't have a uti and I was right. I called the next day to a different office got in that day. Ended up having an infection in my vaginal tissue that could have effected the baby. I was pissed.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one thinking this! Currently 22 weeks with my first and in the same boat. I go to a practice where there are 6 doctors and I feel like each visit is cut short and I'm left leaving the office with more and more questions that I didn't feel like I had enough time to answer. Also, just everything has been sub par for me. I've seen my actual doctor I've gone to me whole adult life once this entire time and when scheduling my other appointments the lady who does it never listens to me and I'll only be seeing her one more time. I know this can be common but it's frustrating when you're a FTM and can't even feel comfortable at your appointments. Thinking about switching and this makes me feel better!

Nope! I changed doctors at 36 weeks

I switched pretty far into my last pregnancy I'd say go for it you have to do what's best for you and your baby
