Is it okay that I’m genuinely just friends with my ex?

So my ex and I have been talking everyday the last two months. We broke up on good terms like a year ago. I know 10000% that he doesn’t want sex, and he doesn’t just want a relationship. So why the heck is he talking to me? I thought that guys only come back like that when they want to see if your dating anyone or they just want sex. It’s weird because I have a genuine friendship with him. What the heck?

I mean I’m oky with it, I was upset with myself because I was dating different guys just because I was bored and lonely, knowing good and well I need to be focusing on myself. Now that I’m talking with him and also my girlfriends I feel not so lonely, and I feel like I’m actually pretty happy being single now. So really I found out I don’t want a relationship, I was just lonely. So those are my reasons for still talking to him. I know like 9999% of the time it’s bad to talk to your ex, but is this a good thing? Maybe he feels the same way I do about it.
