How much breastmilk per say?

For mamas that exclusively pump, how much much is your baby drinking per day? 
My daughter is a few days shy of turning 6 months. It seems like breastmilk vs. the recommended formula amount per day is so different. I’m just curious but also wondering if I’m giving enough BM per day. The doctors kinda annoyed me at a recent visit because she stated that my daughter should be drinking 8oz bottles every 3-4 hrs but I can barely get her to eat over 4 oz during a feeding. I tried explaining that.

Breast milk is so different to formula. The calorific content of breast milk is higher than formula meaning that babies do not need as much.
As long as your daughter is healthy and gaining weight then I wouldn't worry! ❤️

I saw this from legendary milk. Personally my son never took more than a 4 oz bottle when he was away from the breast and he was a bigger guy. Obviously if she’s not growing you’ll need to feed her more to get her moving in that direction. Maybe shorter times between feeding with smaller amounts and not all 8 oz at once?

I'm not sure.... I breastfed till my youngest was 1 and a half months then my milk dried up but she was drinking every 3 hours about 3 to 4 oz.... not she is almost 7 months and drinking 6-8 oz every 3 hours and eats regular food in-between every baby is different. If baby is gaining weight just fine and everything else I wouldn't worry about it....

I was told by our NP/LC to not expect my little one to ever drink more than 5-6oz of breast milk from the bottle even when she is older. She explained that Breast milk’s caloric density will increase as the baby ages. With formula, the caloric amount is increased by increasing volume thus leading to 8oz bottles. She also mentioned that BF babies are at a lower risk for childhood obesity because their stomachs are not being stretched by large volumes of milk. It’s amazing!
