How to create a quiet nursery?

Hi ladies! Any advice on how to create a quiet nursery? My husband and I started working on the nursery yesterday - we just have a crib and a changing table/dresser in the room so far, but we noticed that it is very echoey. The room has laminate wood flooring and nothing on the walls. To top it off, we live in a neighborhood where tons of dirt bikes and 4-wheelers drive by (very loud) to access trails at all times of the day and night. 
We have a 4x5 rug on our registry, but we’re wondering what else we can do to make the room a little more quiet for a sleeping baby. I currently have an antique bentwood rocking chair, but we’re strongly considering changing it out to a upholstered chair to eat up some of the sound. Any nursery inspo I find online seems to just focus on paint and murals, so I’m a little stumped.

You could try a window film to help dampen the sounds. 
My husband got one from Lowe’s to use in his office because we live on a busy street and it helps quite a bit.

An upholstered chair should help, definitely a big rug, curtains on the windows, some wall hangings. And if they are used to a lot of noise from the beginning it’s not a bad thing. There is an outdoor gun range across from my house and loud noises don’t faze my daughter at all because she has been exposed to them since before birth.

Invest in a sound machine. My 3 year old still uses his every night. We’ve gone through several but the lectrofan is the best. 
Hatch was unreliable, rohm/dohm died after less than a year(2 of them) and other no name brands didn’t last.

Everyone else has already made great suggestions. I just wanted to add that you can buy cushions for your rocking chair that tie on. I have an old, family chair that I didn’t want to part with, and was happy to find that there are lots of options for cushions on Etsy and Amazon.

You need stuff on the walls to reduce the echoes

Lots of fabric to absorb the sounds. I would personally get a bigger rug than 4x5 (maybe 8x10 or 9x12 to cover as much of the wood flooring as possible), plus floor-length noise reduction curtains. Canvas art on the walls, a comfy upholstered chair, and a good sound machine.

Get an 8x10 rug, curtains, and stuff on the wall. Consider a sound machine, quiet isn’t always what a baby needs. Keep in mind, the space they’re in now is very loud.
