Early girl!

Starr

I got induced due to preeclampsia. I just wanted to share my experience to help others out.

My original goal was to have a completely natural birth, no meds no nothing. I wanted to labor at home until it was time to leave. But that’s not what happened and honestly, I’m so happy that it doesn’t matter.

With the contractions I was having it was making me sick. I got the epidural, which I was so scared of hurting. LEMME TELL YOU, get it!! I’m scared to death of catheters! Which I had to get a folly catheter (I think that’s right) as well. The guy who did mine was so great and so gentle. I was terrified. For me it didn’t even feel like a bee sting. It was more like a little ant bite or a bad mosquito bite. Either way changed the whole thing for me. I was 1cm when I came in at 6, then I was a 4 with just the pitocin about 10a and was taking there until 12 then I couldn’t take it. I got the epidural and was a 9 by 2:30. Of course she just hung out for a bit but I was able to relax more. I was too anxious with everything happening that I think I was hiding myself back. Had her at 5:42p and I think I pushed 30 minutes maybe a little longer? I will never knock the epidural again. I know everyone’s experience is different but, don’t let what you read and watch scare you. Why be in pain if you don’t have to? Especially if your stuck in bed like I was. Let the plan change, it’s okay. Either way baby will be here, that’s what matters!

To make you laugh, I totally farted in my nurse when she checked how dilated I was after the epidural and I thought it was a queef or just from her glove box we all died laughing. 😂
