septum problems

does anyone have any advice on what i should do? i just got my septum pierced last night and it won’t lay flat no matter what i do. will it go down after its healed or do i need to take it out once it’s healed? idk what size jewelry I have in but i have a bigger one so i could always try switching it after it’s healed to see if the weight of it will fix it. i’m just really upset about this because i’ve always wanted a septum piercing :(
