He’s here! Successful VBac Induced because of GD
Eden Kelly Dale Reid - 7lbs 6oz - 04/21/21 11:59pm
I was induced with a Foley bulb Tuesday night and started Oxytocin slowly on Wednesday morning. I got to 5cm and doctor said let’s make a mess and break your water. I needed the gas but it didn’t take long for it to stop working, I went for IV pain medication which was my next option in my birthing plan. He came and checked me at 8pm and I was 6cm, he offered me a Epidural which wasn’t part of my birthing plan and out of my pain I said yes (no judgement to those who get epidurals my choice was very personal) - God intervened and when he came back with the epidural I was 9cm and he said.. no go for that anymore! Haha. Just like that somehow it was almost time to push, so I went straight for my next option in my birth plan, the Pudendal Block.
I pushed for two full hours, it was exhausting after a long day of labour. For the last hour I was nodding off between contractions and coming back just to push. I ended up having an episiotomy and they used the vacuum as well. My doctor was nearing the point of opting for a repeat cesarean, I’m so grateful it didn’t come to that! Nothing compared to that moment he finally arrived and was placed on my chest. SO much joy and all the pain went away. Welcome Earth side little one, we all love you so much already!
