Birth Control Patch & Period?

I just started my first birth control patch last night and began spotting later that night. Boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and since this morning my period has increased. Is it normal to have a period within 24 hours of starting the first birth control patch?

It’s not a period, it’s breakthrough bleeding from starting the patch. And yes, it’s completely normal. Ur body needs to adjust to the birth control.
