FTM... is this normal?

I have been really struggling with allowing guests over and people holding and feeding the baby (I pump so people will give him a bottle). Did anyone else struggle with this? It’s like when people want to hold my baby and bring him up close to their face (they wear masks) it instantly bothers me. Is this normal? Am I being too crazy and possessive? I just want to know if I should get help for this or not

Definitely normal... my babe is 8weeks and the few that have came to see us and held her I’ve been very protective and not wanting to give her up. It’s extremely hard for me. But so far I’ve just monitored the people holding my baby and taking her when I feel too uncomfortable.

Do you breastfeed? If so, your breast milk is part of your baby’s passive immune system. When they’re exposed to germs and then suckle, your breast milk changes composition to give baby what it needs to fight the germs. Also, some germs are good. You can’t build a strong, healthy immune system without exposure to some germs. Take a deep breath and let the baby be passed around..... until the baby starts to fuss. When the baby fusses they come straight back to you.

I feel the same way! Everyone has worn a mask but they don’t want to which makes me feel bad and like I’m overreacting. Then as soon as someone else holds her for more than 5 minutes I miss her like crazy and just want to take her back!

Ive only exposed my son to my parents and in laws. It’s completely normal to feel like u need to grab the baby from them. I make sure everyone washes their hand and holds the baby for maximum 5 minutes at most 10 minutes.
