Baseline and folicals start of ivf

So I had my baseline ultra sound today I had never start my period yet when I had the ultra sound I had 9 folicals about 3 months back at the very end of my cycle I had an ultra sound and I had 14 folicals I’m still waiting for the nurse to call me with instructions but does this sound normal to only have 9 now ? I know I’m gonna do what the doc tells me but does anyone thing I should wait and maybe next month I’ll have more follicles before I start my meds ?
