Would it be considered as cultural appropriation?

So I shaved my head a few months ago and absolutely hate the way it’s growing out. 
 I’ve been plying around with wigs but Idk, I was thinking about getting braids. I’m half black, but I’m pretty fair skinned. Would it be cultural appropriation?

I'm Caucasian and would never get braids for this reason. I respect that culturally this is not "norm" for me to do and can be taken as appropriation. I think some people may find it offensive for a white woman to do, where others wouldn't care.  But with you being half black, regardless of your skin tone, I would think it would be acceptable! It's part of your culture.

Hi, I'm also mixed with black and I tend to have lighter skin 🙋 I use to rock braids and twists all the time when my hair was more difficult to manage when I was younger. Protective styles are amazing and it's a part of your culture! 
Imagine if someone told you that you couldn't wear a head scarf because you aren't full African American. Or that you couldn't straighten your hair because you aren't fully white, that's just silly. We do what we must to protect our hair and skin.
