My dad isn’t coming to my graduation.

My parents are still together, we live in the same house, but my dad is emotionally absent. Hes a father, not a dad.

I graduate in a month. My dad is a dj and i just found out he booked a job playing music at a bar the night of my graduation. I got upset and he said “of course you make this about you, what I want never matters”.

I thought he as my father would want to come to my graduation, it’s a big milestone. But apparently playing music for a bunch of drunk people is just more important.

I’m disappointed but not surprised. I’m trying not to be upset about it, but it’s just really stings.
