IVF - one Fallopian tube/ blocked tube?

So I’m going through my second ectopic right now. My last pregnancy was in 2017, which ended with my right Fallopian tube rupturing. I was wondering has anyone had any success doing IVF with one Fallopian tube or blocked tubes? I know IVF bypasses the tubes but my remaining left tube is damaged. I was wondering if they will ask me to remove my tube before starting IVF? I’m sorry I’m new to this. 😢🥺

I had a Fallopian tube removed due to being blocked while the other remained in and cleared. We tried for another year with just the one with no success. We went to see a top specialist and he suggested to just go right to IVF if we didn’t want to waste more time with trying IUI. He said he wouldn’t fully trust the one tube. It was ultimately our choice but my husband and I agreed! We’re far along in the IVF process now and are testing our 5 embryos that survived the retrieval! Waiting for the transfer at the end of the month! We have no regrets going right to IVF!!

I have heard that if you have a bad tube even with IVF the embryo can get "sucked up" through that tube from the uterus. I don't think it's something that happens often but it is something that could happen.

I lost a tube to an ectopic pregnancy in 2019. We started trying again in 2020 and when nothing was happening I went in for testing. Found out my remaining tube is blocked. Started ivf pretty much immediately. My doctor also offered the option of doing a laparotomy and attempting to repair the tube but I’m older and wanted to take the route that would most quickly lead to pregnancy . Removing the damaged tube was never brought up as an option or necessity.  I think the only time they recommend surgical removal is if you have a hydrosalpinx which can have a negative impact on an otherwise normal pregnancy.

I had an ectopic in 2019, and my left tube rupture and was removed. After trying with no luck after that, we went to a fertility clinic. My right tube was apparently fine, and so we tried timed intercourse cycles and IUI. We didn’t have any luck, and now are onto our first IVF cycle. Having only one tube was never a topic of concern (I kept asking throughout). Especially in IVF, as the tubes are not needed, I imagine you’d be fine. Even during the IUIs, they always said the one remaining tube could pick up the egg from the opposite side. It never happened for us, but others do have this experience. Good luck to you!
