Should I even agree to a stretch and sweep if baby hadn’t dropped yet?

Would it basically be pointless? 40 weeks on Wednesday. She is still high and hasn’t dropped so would a stretch and sweep even help with that?

i heard from a few people, sweeps don’t actually do anything and if you go into labor after one it means you were going to anyways. imo if baby is healthy and you want them out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it couldnt hurt to try, otherwise i don’t think it’s necessary and baby will come when they’re ready

I always caution against sweeps because I swear that’s the reason my water broke with my first and laboring with broken water was SO much harder than laboring with intact waters! I didn’t let them touch my cervix with my second. No checks no sweeps nothing. The only way I’d agree to a sweep again is if I was a week past due and looking at them wanting to induce.

They did like 3 sweeps on me prior to baby 1 because they were trying to get her to come due to preeclampsia.  It did nothing but cause me tons of pain and discharge.  I ended up being induced

Didn’t help mine. I think they labor ball might’ve helped but even that cannot be confirmed.
