Water broke before scheduled c-section

I was scheduled for a c -section at 39 and 1 day(5.3). On 4.28, after laying down for the night, I heard a huge "pop" sound and had my husband check and it immediately began pouring out.

I was told to go straight to the hospital, but I showered and finished packing first. The contractions began getting bad as I got closer to the hospital (40 min drive). I was wheeled to labor and delivery and went through all the preliminary paperwork. I was having my spinal placed about 1.5 hours after arriving.

At 10:00pm on 4.28 my beautiful babygirl arrived! I was told that I almost had a uterine rupture (was beginning to thin out). I had a baby just 13.5 months ago (repeat c section).

My birth was not what I'd planned but in hindsight, she came at the perfect time. I'm glad I was able to avoid dealing with a possible life threatening uterine rupture.
