I have a 9 month old son and am 4 weeks pregnant with #2. Unemployment has lifted and I have to start looking for jobs. My husband does not make enough to cover our bills. So I’m trying to decide if I should just work as a server at night and on weekends or get a full time job and send my son to daycare.

As a server you have no set schedule and you could possibly lose more quality time with your son than if you had a steady full time job

Depends. Do you qualify for a daycare voucher? If yes, then absolutely do full time. 
If no, then calculate cost of daycare and the pay of your average check. Is it more than working part time nights and weekends? If not, then do part time nights and weekends.

I think serving is too unpredictable and tiring. If you work nights, you're going to want to sleep during the day, so you won't get that quality time with your kid. Maybe consider something like hospitality? Hotel customer service where you can work evenings from home? With a lot of jobs being remote, maybe you can hire a part time nanny and work from home, so you're still around for those firsts and bringing in income, but not paying the full time daycare costs.

Depending on where your husband works you could work with him? That’s what me and my bf does. We have an almost 2 year old and I’m currently pregnant. I work the morning shift and we switch with our daughter and he works the night shift at the same place. It’s sooooo convenient.

It all depends on salary of a full time job in your field. 
Personally, I would apply and take tests for local governments positions. A large chuck of my family works in county or state positions in grounds, maintenance, secretarial work and they make good money with amazing benefits. The annoying part of those jobs is you have to wait to take tests and get high scores. It sets your family up for success in the future.

I would say look for baby sitting jobs that would allow you to take your son with you. Depending on your area, you can charge a good 15 to 20 an hr.

I worked as a server for half of my second pregnancy and it was great. My oldest was 4 but not in prek yet because all the spots at every local elementary schools were full and daycare was not an option for us as we have had bad experiences with daycares. My husband worked during the day and I got to stay home with our girl and basically homeschool her myself for prek (shes now in gifted second grade!). And at night's and on the weekends I would work at a local nice restaurant serving (we live in a rural area, so it is considered almost fancy lol). I would make anywhere from 250-400 depending on how much I worked or what days I worked. And this is very good compared to the average wage where we live. I told them i couldnt do lunch shifts during the week because childcare and they would just put me on the schedule for when I said I could work. I also started when I was about 4 months, and worked up until almost 8. You will sometimes get sympathy tips from older people 😅😅 or I did at least! Lol and as I got bigger the didnt much me on close as often but opening on sats and sundays to make up for it. It was a great experience. I got to bring discounted food home, we could go out to eat there and it not be so expensive bc employee discount! Made a lot of friends. I didnt go back after baby was born though. The full time jobs in my area weren't that great and I made just as much serving and didnt have to put our girl in daycare. But I also have a really supportive husband too. Just depends on your family dynamics.

I worked 4 days in 3 for a few years. Now we need more money I work 5 days in 4
