In-laws made my postpartum a nightmare

caroline

So I gave birth a few days ago and with hospital policies changing, I was allowed to have visitors from 8am-8pm.

I’m a first-time mom. I was in so much pain due to a perineal tear during childbirth. Nurses were also teaching me how to breast feed. At this point I thought “what’s even the point of wearing a gown”, so I was just in my nursing bra and mesh underwear. My mom and husband were in the room, but I am comfortable around both of them, NOT around the in-laws. They kept going in and out of the room. Even when I had to go the restroom they were there. I couldn’t even put my gown without them watching. I’m shy, so I didn’t speak up about how uncomfortable their presence made me. I know they were not there for me, but for the baby. I just wish they had been more considerate. The worst was when my brother-in-law walked in the room in the middle of breast feeding and my mother-in-law just gave a blanket to cover up. Nobody even asked me if I was ok with that!!

After I was discharged from the hospital the in-laws came and spent 3 days and nights at our place!!!! I just needed some time to properly heal in private. Worst experience ever!!

Has anyone experienced anything like this??

Sorry, I had to vent out:)
