Tragedy Struck

I got a tearful call from my mom that she was sitting in the vet parking lot and that she didn't think her Shi Tzu, Ella was going to make it. She goes on to tell me her other dog Abby (a shi tzu terrier mix) attacked Ella while she was in town and it was awful. I loaded up my baby and we drove to give support. Several hours later and after I arrived, she got the call from the vet that she did indeed pass. She absolutely fell apart. Ella was my fur baby when I turned 16, but when I left for college, Mom took to her for 13 years. The next morning, my dad and I came to an understanding that Abby was no longer welcome or to be trusted especially with little ones. Mom knew, but couldnt bring herself to make the decision herself. She was euthanized as a result. My mom is an avid dog lover and tried so hard to rationalize the situation as it is such a sudden and recent occurance. My heart breaks so hard for her because those were her babies. I just returned home, and it's tough knowing that her world will never be the same.
