Would you want to live to be 100?

My mom called me weird because I said living that long sounds shitty. I’m already drained of life now, I can’t imagine then. Dealing with 100 years of trauma and stress. Painful and sore body and joints all the time. No family or friends left besides your kids/grandkids. Even 70-80 sounds crazy long

My great grandma lived to be 104 and she was the sweetest thing to ever live. She always told me that growing old is a privilege not many get. But you feel how you feel, you are your own person 🤷

Depends on the quality of my life and the people in it. If I’m still active, surrounded by family, then yes I think I would. If I’m bedridden and alone, no.

I would! I want to live as long as possible, assuming I have a decent quality of life. Sure, you’ll be tired, sore, maybe grumpy, maybe use a walker, and not remember everything all the time...but, can’t you also see what a blessing life is? I can’t imagine the wisdom and the thoughts behind the mind of someone who is 100, but it shouldn’t be taken for granted. Idk, call me crazy, but I want to see as much as possible in my life, learn as much, experience as much, despite the fact some parts may be incredibly painful. Even the awful parts of life can be teaching moments, and you can learn forever. The world is awe inspiring to me and I can only imagine the technology, what things will look like, new behavior patterns, family dynamics, plants, new species, space exploration, ocean exploration....I’ll never get enough!!

I just went to my friends 94th birthday party today. She was born nine years after the 1918 pandemic exclamation! She was loving life and we had a great time. She still sells quilts and she sits in her chair and looked at her garden.
