VBAC?!

Hi mamas! I’m a mama due with my second. I was in labor with my first boy for 17 hours, pushed for three and his head would not come out. I had an emergency csection. Of course I will ask my OB at my appt but has anyone had a successful VBAC? I’d love to hear your stories!

I had a successful spontaneous VBAC in Nov! Our 3rd son was a c section for breech. My anatomy scan they told me structurally everything looked good and MFM oked VBAC. Around 32 weeks they did a risk evaluation to determine if I was a good candidate for trying. Based on my birthing history, c section and current pregnancy they said I had an 82% chance of success and less than 2% chance of rupture. They told me all the risks associated with both and I told them I wanted to try. They do let you know right away that you will need to get an epidural or spinal block during your labor just in case you do rupture because there is limited time to get baby out. I think it's something like 7/8 minutes. But my VBAC was everything I could have hoped for and more. I wasn't sure if I was having contractions or not but I had light short waves that started at 6am. I timed them for a couple of hours and it seemed like they were slowing. My 2 yr old woke up at 8:50 and I went to get him out of bed. I stopped to use the bathroom first and had my bloody show. Woke my husband up. Got my son dressed (our older 2 were at grandma's house already) and we were on our way to the hospital at 9 am. Got in at 9:30 3 cm. Checked again at 10:30 6 cm. Told them I didn't think the anesthesiologist was going to make it but he got there at 11:30 and I was 9 cm. The doctor asked if I was ready for her to break my water and I said only if you're ready to catch a baby. She went and checked another patient. Came back and broke my water a little after noon. I was 9 1/2cm 95% effaced when she broke my water. I pushed once and she had to stop me mid push because baby crowned. She asked if I wanted to pull baby out and I said hell yes! So she said push lightly on the next contraction and she walked me through pulling our baby out. Cord was wrapped twice and baby had pooped. We didn't know gender yet and 5 minutes later I asked if anyone had noticed when I pulled baby out. All at once me, my husband, the doctor and nurse lift the blanket and we find out we had our 1st and only daughter after 3 boys. Everything was amazing. We left the hospital 28 hours after arriving.
