Hates sleeping on his back

My son hates being on his back to sleep. He instantly wakes up. From day one he’s liked being on his side. At night I swaddle him up so it’s easy for him to go on his side as his arms are tucked in. During the day for naps if I put him on his side he wakes up quickly cause I don’t swaddle him cause I never know when he’s gonna fall asleep. I’d like to get him sleeping on his back so we can move him into his crib when the time comes. Anytime I try putting him on his back he cries.

Any tips for getting him on his back?

He loves being on his belly too but I only let him stay like that if he is right beside me and I stay with him the whole time to watch him.
