Tens machine??

Hello! So I’m due next month towards the end and I’m honestly starting to freak out a bit as this will be my first and the time seems to be coming up quicker than I’d like. I’ve been talking to my midwife and her team along with some ladies and friends that I know and I have decided I am going to do a water birth at our birth centre. Although this could easily change once I see how much pain there’ll actually be, but for now the plan is water.

My midwife mentioned the birth centre doesn’t have a tens machine, but she does recommend looking into it and seeing if I want to rent one and bring it with me once I go into labour.

We apparently only have one place where I live that rents these out and they do it on a monthly basis rather than what you need it for. So I’m curious if this is something that actually helps and is worth renting or if it’s something I should just skip?

Any advice from anyone who has used one is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My birth center offers it but I do have my own from when we were in a car accident years ago. It’s a handy thing to have even when not giving birth lol. I would say purchase one if you can (they’re not horribly expensive) just because they can be so helpful when your back or neck hurts.

Just curious if this is the little machine you can order off of Amazon or a more durable industrial style one?
