Are you supposed to count the days I’m pregnancy or only the weeks ?

I don’t understand how this works I’m reading too many different things, if I’m 23 weeks 6 days do the 6 days Count or are you just 23 weeks ?

Either… I know whenever I talk to doctors and midwives then it’s all about the weeks and days as 23 weeks is vastly different to 23 weeks and 6 days in their eyes.

When I was pregnant, I only counted weeks. 
When people asked when I gave birth, I say 39 weeks 2 days. 
It's just a personal preference, I think.

I only did when I was over 40 weeks. So I say I gave birth at 40 weeks 5 days.

Count as you like. Usually the days are not that important, but a lot of peole really want to tell very one their pregnancy is exactly 21+6 or 38+1 or... The days are more important, when you are overdue. Then 40+0 and 40+6 are different...
It is like some people really like to tell their baby is 31 weeks old... Instead of saying baby is 4 months, or almost 5 months. And then... There are people, who tell their child is 25 months old instead of saying two years...
Basically if a doc asks, tell the weeks, otherwise, not important.
