Baby measuring 36 weeks at 40 weeks

Hi ladies,

I’m a first time mom. I went to an ultrasound today because yesterday was my due date. While I have to wait for the doctor or midwife to message me. I couldn’t help but notice that the readings she was getting for the ultrasound didn’t match up to my weeks of pregnancy. When she measured baby the measurements were showing gestational age of 36 weeks and 3-5 days but I’m 40 weeks and 1 day today.

The ultrasound tech did ask my last periods date and asked whether my due date was calculated based on my periods or ultrasounds.

My 12 week and 22 weeks ultrasound was measuring to match my gestational age, so I’m a bit worried as to why the measurements would be around 36 weeks when I’m 40 weeks.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Also give or take she says baby is measuring around 6 pounds 7 ounces.

One worried mama to be- but praying all is well.
