Is my baby too young?

Hey ladies. So my baby makes 8 months in 2 days and today it’s hot in my are. I was thinking of taking him to the local swimming center. Is he old enough to get in the water at all? Of course with supervision and maybe I can get him some little floaties? Also, are their special diapers he needs to get in? I’m a first time mom so I’m clueless lol. Thanks in advance

He’s old enough for the pool 
“Floaties” like the ones toddlers use won’t work. If anything you can get him one of the little “boats” like this

And you’ll want to get swim diapers. Swim diapers won’t absorb pool water and get heavy like a regular diaper will

As far as I know, they can go in the water at 3 months old. You can buy little swimmers in most stores. I would look at the rules in your local pool. Some require specific diapers/diaper covers for swimming. I feel like any time in their life is a good time for swimming! 😁

He can definitely go! They do make swim diapers you can get them at target or Walmart or whatever near the pool stuff

Thats not too young! I did swim lessons with my boy earlier than that. (And lessons it wS just singing songs ans bopping them around in the water). Most pools need TWO layers for bottoms. A *swim* diaper AND trunks or bottoms of some sort. That's a pretty standard rule (at least where I live).

We started swim class at 4 months. Our pool requires iplay reusable swim diapers. The disposable swim diapers mess up pool systems and often are not allowed.

We have been to swimming classes since 2 months.
Just watch that baby doesn't get too cold. Adult pool water is cold for them, so go to a warmer pool in turns with a regular one if there are more than one. Or get out and warm baby in towel for some time.
