Has anyone been told they have to have a csection due to baby being big but baby wasn’t big after birth?

My obgyn is telling me that if I don’t have the baby on my own before 37 weeks I need to have a csection because she’s too big. I known ultrasound measurements can be way off though. At 34 weeks she was measuring 37 weeks and 7 pounds 8 oz.

With my first, the doctor said baby's head was too big, that's why I couldn't get him out with pushing for hours. He was 7# when he was born and I'm petite. He was jammed in there with a big bruise on his head. When I had my second, my ob explained that it wasn't just that my baby's head was big, it was also how my pelvis is tilted that made it difficult for baby to come out, that's why he was suggesting my second be a repeat c-section. Second was a lb heavier. But, I know ppl have given birth to bigger babies just fine. If it's solely based on size, I don't think that's a good enough reason to need a c-section.

Idk why this is even a thing cause we can birth "big" babies! I have friends who birthed 9-10 lb babies perfectly fine! You have a right to deny a c-section and try and go natural and see what happens, almost all the time ive heard people getting weight estimates they were always wrong and mine was too for my daughter! Had a friend that was told her baby was 9 lbs at 37 weeks and when she was born she was 6 lbs lol its not accurate

After my 36 week ultrasound, he was measuring 7.5 lbs and my doctor kept making comments regarding him maybe getting stuck blah blah they even prepared things in case his shoulders got stuck when I was in labor but he came out just fine and was actually only 8.5 lbs 4 weeks later. Those ultrasounds can be pretty off and if it's only a size issue, stuck with your guns and don't allow them to convince you into a c-section.

They over estimated 2 of my kids by about a pound. They didn't tell me I needed a c section but with my 3rd for example they told me she was over 8 pounds a couple days before she was born, she was only 6.5 pounds.

Yes!!!! My doctor was pressuring me to get one because my baby had a big head and was going to weigh 10lbs. I ignored him and my baby came out fine at 8lbs 13oz. This was 2 hours before having my youngest

I had a breech big baby. At 36wks he weighed 7lbs via ultrasound.  Had him the next day via c-section. He was 7.2lbs

I had my son vaginally and he was 10 on 3 oz. he did get stuck at the shoulders and the nurses had to push down hard on my stomach to push him out for me instead of using the forceps, so I had a second degree tear and baby had a fractured clavicle

Ultrasound measurements are pretty accurate actually, with this technology we have nowadays they are pretty close but my tech always said “give or take a pound” so baby could be smaller. My only thing is I knew I was having a big baby, at that point it think my son was measuring at 8lbs (“give or take a pound” 🤣) I had a caection after failure to dilate and I was just exhausted after 3 days he came out at 9lbs 5oz. I dont know if this helps but that was my experience, just waiting to see what happens with this baby #2 lol
