Wax before birth?

Let me start this by saying - I’m a hairy person. And I do not consider natural hair to be “dirty” or offensive in any way. In fact, I rarely ever shave my legs let alone my full-on bush. That being said, I’ve been feeling the desire to get rid of all my hair quickly and efficiently before birth. I heard your doctors shave you in the operating room and that just seems weird to me...so I’d rather handle it myself. My pubes, legs, butt and underarms would stay stubble free for longer with waxing so that seems like the most logical way to go. Another part of me is like “F*** it” and just let them shave me. Haha! I’ve had waxing in the past and it sucked but was so smooth and stayed that way for a hell of a lot longer. So the lazy part of me likes that. Is it safe to wax a week before projected birth date? Have you done it? Do you even care? Lol lemme kno.

I just trim is down real close. There's no way in hell I'm waxing with as sensitive as I've been down there. I already have varicose veins in my labia and I think I would die if they waxed me. 😱

Just to warn u....u r way more sensitive during waxing while pregnant! So if the waxing wasn't to bad to u before pregnancy....u will def feel it during pregnancy! Lol

If you are going to choose hair removal in would suggest sugaring over waxing. It causes less irritation and is gentler on the skin, especially in sensitive areas.

I would definitely call a salon and ask because I have heard that your more sensitive so I would see what they say about it. I just trimmed mine really short. I did it more of the fact for postpartum bleeding to help keep the cleaning process be a little easier. Also you never know but you may not even tear.

I’ve only had vaginal births but I like to keep things shaved/waxed down there near the end because things get bloody and sensitive and I don’t want to mess with dried blood on my pubes making things even more uncomfortable than they already are post-birth. I also had a huge episiotomy with my first snd it would have made healing/caring for the cut easier if I had waxed beforehand, so I learned that lesson.

I would normally shave on my own. But knowing my belly would get in the way eventually I started getting waxed. I asked.my doctor if it was safe and she said yes. I also asked if i needed to stop at a certain point before anticipated delivery, her response "you can go as long as you're comfortable, keep in mind the last time you go is going to have to last a looooooong time". (Her hinting at the healing after birth)

I always keep everything shaved. I don't like pubic hair. When you get periods it gets all gross and I don't like the feeling and same applies after I have a baby. Its upto 6 weeks of bleeding and feeling yucky on my end. So I always keep it all shaved and tidy. I did have a nurse tell me they prefer you don't while pregnant because it helps keep out some bacteria but I couldn't do it. I tried hard. Everyone is different.

They see it all the time so it wouldn't be a bother at all. 
I personally like to be clean shaven, and when you've given birth and it's a bit messy for a few weeks afterwards it is easier to keep Clean

I don't care. By the time birth roles around and you're in the middle of it, your bush is the last thing anyone is going to be worried about. Are you having a C section? If so, I'm not sure or the protocol for that, I'd just let them shave you if that's  what's needed.

With my first I had an unexpected c section. So they had to come in and prep me for surgery, which included shaving me down there. Honestly it wasn't that bad, per se, but I did ask the nurse if she had to do this often and her response was a little snarky. She said "most women just get themselves waxed or shave themselves." Honestly at nearly 42 weeks pregnant I didn't have the money or pain tolerance to handle waxing and shaving myself was a absolute no go. Not with a 8.5 lb baby in the way. Not to mention this surgery was totally unexpected. For a natural birth I don't think you need to be bald down there, but I could be wrong since I've never had that experience. But for a c section you definitely need to be shaven at least where they need to make the incision. But there's really no need to be completely bald.
