5 year old going on 15…

Anyone else’s 5 year old just moody and unpleasant lately? We just got back home after picking the kids up from daycare and she’s in a miserable mood and wants to go straight to her room to be alone. I tell her no, we’re going to have dinner first and then she can go play in her room. She whines the whole time we are making dinner and then when I give her her plate she throws it on the floor. After that we sent her in time out in the living room but she broke the baby gate and snuck into her room. What did I do wrong here? She’s been like that for the past week or so and it’s really annoying. No amount of talking to her seems to help, she just screams and hits us.
