I got paid yesterday so I planned for my rent to be a couple days late, whatever. I planned to get my money order this morning before work, but I had a hiccup with my cat and frantically called my boyfriend to run the errand for me, at any point today while I worked because he’s off on weekends. He said he had to get his money order as well, so it worked out— or so I thought.

He sends the photo of the order around 3pm today. I call him around 7 asking when he’d be able to drop it off to me. I work 7/8 minutes away from his place so it’d be nothing to drop it off to me, especially since he’s off and lounging around. He told me that he could do it later tonight around 9.

I just texted him at midnight asking about it, and he tells me he forgot all about it and that he’ll bring it to me tomorrow. He just shrugged it off and gave a half-assed apology like it was nothing. Now I have to pay a late fee.

This is the first time I have ever reached out to him about a favor, let alone one this large. He was off work and doing nothing and still forgot. I am so pissed because I now have to Uber to him before work, at 5am, then back to my place to drop the money order off, then to work. That’s a good $30 out of my pocket because of his carelessness. This is really making me not want to ask him for another favor ever again.
